DJ Khushi
If clichés be used, music is DJ Khushi Soni's raison d'être. But, if truth be told, it's the first, and till now, the only love of Khushi's life. Even though he's just 28 years old, Khushi's musical repertoire is quite rich, courtesy the early age at which he began his rendezvous with sounds. And over a period of 9 years, he has simply expanded his soundscape, experimenting with every possible genre of music.
Besides being SRK's official DJ, Khushi also modestly enjoys the title of 'The Bollywood Remix King'. It's his Bollywood remixes for movies like Ra One, Desi Boyz, Tume Mile, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, Kaminey, De Dana Dan, Agneepath, Housefull 2, Boss, Student Of The Year , Matru Ki Bajli Ka Mandola , Aashiqui 2 that have made him a household name in the Indian music fraternity. He's the only DJ who was had the pleasure of working with Grammy winning artist Mr. A.R. Rahman. The ease with which he can dabble in sounds has taken him to the console at various top nightspots in the world and has played at most of the leading watering holes in India. He's also matched his skills with stalwarts like Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif , Kareena Kapoor amongst the film fraternity. And even though his ability lies in spinning sounds as varied as retro, hip hop as well as house, it's Bollywood and EDM sounds that he enjoys immensely. Having played at Bollyland, TOIFA, Zee Cine Awards, Filmfare Awards, Stardust Awards and a horde of others, he is famously known for his live gigs for the crème de la crème.
He's worked alongside DJ’s like Suketu, Rishi Rich, Juggy D and Nikhil Chinapa, apart from working with music directors like Pritam, Raju Singh, Mithoon Sharma, Amit Trivedi, Vishal-Shekhar, Ajay-Atul. Khushi also holds a residency at the Buddha Bar New Delhi which is a prestigious and a very famous international chain all over the world . Infact he’s the only Indian DJ who plays there once a month for a Bollywood night which has never happened in the history of Buddha Bar.
However, entertainment is his adrenaline, and he makes sure that he pumps yours too if he's around at any party. In the recent past, he has rocked events hosted by the likes of Lakshmi Mittal, Anil Ambani , Sanjay Chandra (unitech) , Sameer Thapar, Burmans (Dabur family), Jaipurias (Pepsi), Goenkas, Ansals and the Morani brothers (Cineyug), among others.
But not satisfied with simply dishing out popular tracks night after night, he has always striven to take up new challenges, and has recently collaborated with global artists for his first international release 'Unleashed' which hit the Beatport charts at No 4 amongst names like Afrojack , Kylie Minogue & Nicky Romerio. The resident DJ at Pacha Ibiza, Peter Brown has collaborated with DJ Khushi for a track called “Party All Night” which was later signed on for House Session Records. Very recently he was the official DJ who opened for Tiesto and LMFAO at their India tours.
Learning new skills everyday is not just an option, but a habit for him. While people spread happiness, Khushi spreads the love for music through his work. A complete foodie DJ Khusi owns Fat Ninja which is a Pan Asian restaurant at Hauz Khas Village , New Delhi and is spread over 5500 sq. feet with a beautiful view. Being benevolent by nature, Khushi also is an active founder of NGO SWAPN based in New Delhi.
